1. Download and install Python and FreeCVS from:
http://stream.levels.unisa.edu.au/resources/cvs

2. Run WinCVS and a dialogue box should appear.

3. Insert the following values in the properties window titled WinCVS Preferences:

Authentication: pserver
Path: /export/home/cvs
Host address: river
Username: your login username e.g. eworld

Click OK.

4. Click admin -> login on the menu bar. WinCVS should connect to river.You will be prompted for your password.A successful login will result in the message:

***** CVS exited normally with code 0 *****

5. If you have not used WinCVS before, now would probably be a good time to read through the WinCVS documentation
